| About | At the beginning of the XIX century was founded by Mr. Jesus Hernandez a distillery named La Invencible that was what is nowadays known as Tequilena S. A. de C. V. In those days they produced only 50 lt per day having only basic machinery for the production. At the end of that century the major part of the production was for the national market and they only exported for two times to the U. S. A. La Invencible was owned by three generations of the Hernandez family and in 1962 it was sold to the Orendain family who added the steam process and a new oven for the cooking. In 1971 it was acquired by Bacardi who changed the name to Tequilena, added new technology and it grew up to have a daily production of 10, 000 lt of tequila. Vergel bought Tequilena in 1987 and in 1990 Bacardi acquired Vergel and thus Tequilena was sold to the Fonseca family.
