Suzhou Dongwu Silk Weaving Mill has a long history and enjoys remarkable fame at home and abroad. With the integrated capacity of weaving, spinning and clothes making, the factory mainly produces fabrics of pure silk, mixes woven silk and chemical filament for exportation. It is one of the key large-scale enterprises designated for exportation and the only Grade 1 state enterprise in China Silk industry. The factory has the autonomous export and import power. Its total assets value amounts to 320million yuan ($38.5 million). The factory currently employs over 2,100 persons, including a technical staff of more than 200 members. Its equipment consists of 300 water jet looms imported from Japan, 40Italian rapier looms,300 Chinese shuttle looms,2 spinning lines also from Japan and the corollary equipment. Its annual output is 25 million meters of various fabrics, 4,000 tons of polyester fine filament and 3 million pieces of clothes. The annual output value is 300 million yuan ($36.1 million) and the annual exported value is $20 million. In 1997 and 1998,Dongwu Silk was recognized as famous brandname products of Jiangsu Province and China silk industry by Jiangsu Provincial planning and economy Commission and China National Textile Council respectively. Dongwu Silk sells well and receives appreciation at home and abroad, being exported to the USA, western Europe, Japan, Korea, southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macao, ect. At present, we are weaving several series fashion apparel fabrics, such as silk & cotton, silk & wool, silk & linen, silk stretch, silk & rayon cross dyed, silk tencel and silk burn-out series fabric. In April,1999, The factory obtained the certification of ISO9002. |
