Rwanda Mountain Tea, a privately owned company, is an initiative of the Rwandan Government to privatize companies in the public sector for better management and productivity. Rwanda Mountain Tea owns 2 tea estates, Rubaya and Nyabihu. 1 / 10 of the production of tea leaves come from small village tea holders, who receive technical assistance from RMT. The 2 tea estates were in operation for 20 years and more, before being yielded toRMT.
