| About | Conca de Barbera is mainly an agricultural region devoted to vineyard farming. The first grape-vines were brought from France by the Cister monks, who arrived to the monastery of Poblet. Since then vineyard farming spread fast throughout the whole region thanks to the excellent quality of the soil. Except for the time when phylloxera appeared, vine growing has continued throughout the years without interruption. Rosa Maria Torres vineyards are located in the town limits of Sarral and Barbera de la Conca. The 110 hectare (271. 7acres) of the property makes it possible for the us to use our own harvest for the production of our wine. The quality of our grapes is controlled and guaranteed from its origin by our enologists. Our vineyards have been cultivated for more than one hundred years. Great changes have been experienced in teh last twenty years, since new French grape-wine varieties have been planted. Our aim is to meet the reqeriments of present-day international market. CABERNET SAUVIGNON, CABERNET FRANC, PINOT NOIR, SYRAH, CHARDONAY and VIOGNIER are the grape varieties introduced to our plantations for the elaboration of red, white and rose wine and cava. Such grape-vines have shown a very good adaptation, achieving great quality results for the elaboration of wine. Several generations have devoted themselves to grape-vine farming and elaboration of our wine. Nowadays Rosa Maria Torres S. L. is a family-run buisness just like it has been from its foundation. Our current techniques together with the experience and tradition inherited from our ancestors provide our produce with the highest quality. Our wines are enjoyed in most European Countries (holland, Germany, England. . . ) . Year after year our customers loyalty answers for the quality of our produce. |
