NUTRICAN products include Omega-3 rich Harp seal oil supplied in bulk oil or capsule form, and processed seal meat. The oil is extracted from the blubber of the animal and marketed internationally. The health benefits of Omega-3 have been well documented by various scientific journals and initial research conducted by Memorial University in Newfoundland shows seal oil might provide superior benefits over existing Omega-3 sources. Future aspirations include the development of nutraceuticals from fishery by-products. The refining process has been federally registered and fully certified for the production of pharmaceutical-grade, premium food-grade oils. The product and facilities are regularly inspected and approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The process is HACCP-based to ensure quality controls are integrated at every step. Our oil is an all-natural product in that it is refined rather than manufactured, and the process is mechanical rather than biochemical.
