| About | Mountain Valley Wines has been specifically set up to bring you the best wines from South East Europe. This region, which starts from Istria in the north of Croatia, across the Adriatic past Montenegro and down to Greece, has enjoyed wine growing since the Ancient Greeks and the Roman Empire. Both civilizations recognised the favourable climate along the coast of the Adriatic and as well as leaving their architectural heritage (the city of Kotor in Montenegro and Istria in Croatia, both built by the Republic of Venice during the Roman Empire) they also planted the first vines which started a tradition of wine making in the region that has continued to this day. South East Europe in many ways remains the last undiscovered European gem. The region has enjoyed a 10% tourism growth per year over the last 5 years, and those who visit bring back memories of gastronomy which almost always include stories of original wines, like the Vranac (pronounced "Vranas") or the Pro Corde, from Montenegro.
