About | Pure European tradition. . . our great-grandparents came from Germany in the year 1880 and established themselves in the south of Chile, South America, where their descendants proliferated. Due to the earthquake and tsunami occurred in the area in 1960, our farm located very close to the Pacific Ocean became flooded with salt water. This compelled us to move to Buin, a small town located in the Central Valley of Chile, seeking new development opportunities. In that area we bought lands, where we personally harvested vegetables and fruits from our farm in order to subsist. With these, we prepared preserves and preserved produce to eat during the year. After giving some as gifts to our neighbours and friends, they encouraged us to sell them these delicious products. This was how Mickelsen was born, a family company with German-Danish roots, with the purpose of preparing the best preserves and preserved produce. For over a century, recipes and traditions have been passed on through generations, in order to give each product a gourmet style and that distinguishing, delicate, handmade character. We prepare and commercialize Gourmet Products. To achieve this purpose, we base ourselves on a clear philosophy: we employ the best Chilean fruits and vegetables which are harvested by hand, we cook all our recipes with loving care, we preserve the handmade caracter of the products, producing them in small batches so as to maintain our quality. We have a clear vision and commitment to deliver only the best to our costumers. In our opinion, details make the difference. |
