| About | Lime Juice Our main product, preserved, concentrated clarified lime juice, preserved with sulphur dioxide, has a shelf life of 24 months We hold stock all year round therefore we can supply at short notice against customer demand, without the usual lead-times common in the citrus industry. Our juice is manufactured from the lime fruit Citrus Aurantifolia, also known as the west Indian, Mexican or key lime and can be produced to a variety of specification including: Preserved clarified lime juice Preserved cloudy lime juice Concentrated preserved clarified lime juice For specification see below The product is normally packed in 210 litre plastic drums but we can quote for smaller sizes. Drums are supplied on pallets and are stretch wrapped. With each delivery we supply a certificate of analysis and pre-shipment samples are available if required. Distilled Lime Oil An inevitable development of our involvement in the lime juice industry has been our lime oil business. We produce lime oil to the highest industry standards. Essential lime oil is found in the peel of the fruits in our case Citrus Aurantifolia and is extracted by steam distillation. The best distilled lime oil (DLO) is from fresh raw lime fruits and has a clean floral aroma which is missing from oil derived from older fruit. However the latter can be made to have a very high content of oxygenated constituents which may be preferred by some buyers when the oil is to be used for lime flavours For specifications see below DLO is widely used in the flavour industry and in particular is a principal ingredient in cola flavours, but considerable quantities are also used to flavour lime drinks, marmalade, confectionary, and the cosmetics industry DLO is packed in 177kg drums, but we can quote for smaller sizes in required. Lime Juice Specifications: preserved, concentrated, clarified lime juice Natural source: Citrus Aurantifolia (lime) Description: Clear liquid with good characteristic lime colour. Flavour Profile: Good distinctive lime flavour, free from off flavours and staleness. Acidity: Not less than 450 GPL citric acid anhydrous or to customer specification. Density: 1.210 g/ml. Brix: 40.0-48.0(not corrected for acid) or to customer specification Clarity: less than 3 Hach NTU at single strength of 7.113 percent w/v citric acid anhydrous. Preservative: 1500-3000ppm sulphur dioxide. Colour: Lovibond Comparator: max 3 Pesticides: Conform with EU regulations. Micro organisms: free from any visible spoilage per 1 gm of raw material. Distilled Lime Oil Specifications Natural source- Citrus Aurantifolia: Mexican, Key or West Indian Lime Description: Colorless to pale yellow liquids having the characteristic flavour and aroma. Solubility: 1 volume in 5 at 90v/v ethanol. Residue on Evaporation: Not more than 3 w/v. Additives: None Pesticides: Conform with EU regulations. |
