About Lamberti began its activity in 1911 near Varese, in the North of Italy, as a small family business, producing auxiliary chemicals for dyeing and finishing in the textile industry.
Following WWII, Lamberti began to expand its operations, a process that still continues today.
In the 1950's the company widened its product range and started to diversify its activities into new productive sectors, such as leather and ceramics.
The 1960's and 70's saw Lamberti emerge as a foremost chemical company in Italy.
The 1980's were characterized by the new production of photoinitiators and the growing international success of Lamberti's production of carboxymethylcellulose.
In the same period, Lamberti acquired several small Italian companies active in the leather, textile and ceramic markets.
1981 marked a turning point for Lamberti, with the first acquisitions of Italian companies in the leather, textile and ceramic markets and the foundation of Lambra (Brazil), the first foreign subsidiary. This was the initial step in the process of internationalization of the company.
Since 1990, Lamberti has continued its international growth, thanks to the creation of new subsidiaries in Europe and the Far East.
In September 1992, Lamberti was among the first Italian companies to be granted Quality Certification according to EN ISO 9001. Since then, all affiliates have obtained ISO 9001 and many are being certified according to ISO 14001 Certification.
The acquisition of Auschem-Cesalpinia (1994) and the creation of new subsidiaries in France, Spain, Hong Kong, Turkey, and Mexico allowed a more effective control over domestic and international markets.
In 1997 the new Headquarters in Gallarate and Technological Center in Albizzate were ready to support an intensive development program, which included the introduction of the new SAP R/3 software for the Group's processes and procedures and the commitment to 'Responsible Care' Health & Safety Program.
For many years, well before being legally bound to do so, Lamberti has had a special team concentrating on safety and environmental care issues.
Nowadays, Lamberti has established itself as a foremost chemical group in the national and international markets.
Internationalization proves to be a winning principle with the foundation of Lamberti USA (Texas), Lamberti South Africa, Lamberti Indonesia, manufacturing units in China for Photochemistry, Ceramics and Textile, Lamberti Ceramika Polska, Lamberti Deutschland, Lamberti Shanghai, Lamberti Synthesis USA (Tennessee), Lamberti Rus.
Lamberti is convinced that global competition requires a balanced approach, mixing technological competence and commercial organization with a constant willingness to create and innovate, often against established conventions and acting in advance of the future! For this reason, the highest investments are concerned with R&D innovation, development of production capacities (associated with environmental awareness, safety and accident prevention) and the creation of a market-oriented worldwide network.
