| About | Indiana Botanic Gardens, Inc. was founded in 1910 by Joseph E. Meyer in a small cottage in the back of his home in Hammond, Indiana. Joseph and his family gathered herbs from the nearby fields. They packed boxes, filled orders, fed the printing press, and even bound catalogs by hand with needle and thread. In 1918, the 400-page book, The Herbalist was printed and business expanded from the tiny cottage to a larger building. Today Indiana Botanic Gardens remains family owned and operated with over 170 dedicated employees, and 4 international distributors. (Poland, Cameroon, Peru & the United Kingdom) Located in Hobart, Indiana, just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago and 5 miles from beautiful Lake Michigan. Our 50, 000 sq. ft. facility houses our fulfillment operation, manufacturing and quality control departments. |
