| About | PTFE COMPOUNDS ISOSTATICALLY MOULDED RODS ISOSTATICALLY MOULDED TUBE COMPRESSION MOULDED CYLINDERS COMPRESSION MOULDED SHEET STANDARD STOCK SHAPES TECHNICAL SERVICE AND APPLICATIONS PTFE COMPOUNDS As the need for more demanding engineering uses emerge, it is possible to add a variety of fillers to pure unfilled PTFE that will improve its physical properties. The addition of these fillers through the proper combination can be tailor made to suit mechanical applications that would normally be outside the scope of virgin PTFE material. The fillers include glass fibre, bronze, carbon, graphite, moly, carbon fibre, polyimide and ekonol. We have more than 100 formulations to suit your requirements. We can also offer standard fillers in percentages to suit your specific application and cost. Inorganic and thermoplastic polymers are commonly used to enhance wear and load carrying properties of PTFE. FLUORO PACIFIC are also willing to accommodate small batch quantities, using specific fillers to correctly enhance materials properties to best suit the end requirements. These compounds are then processed by a variety of methods depending on the shape, size and physical properties required. Material certification is available. Incoming raw materials and semi-finished products are tested in our own laboratory to ensure consistent quality. Special colours are also available. ISOSTATICALLY MOULDED RODS PTFE rods of longer lengths and small diameters have, until now, been produced by the Ram-extrusion method. A Medium standard product can be obtained, depending on the experience of the producer and the quality of the equipment used. Diameters greater than 30mm can be produced by vertical compression moulding, though this limits the length to 300mm, with 500mm an exception. Fluoro Pacific has perfected a unique uniform isostatic compression moulding process, to produce rods from 12mm to 65mm diameter in 2 metre lengths. This process ensures the following unique features: Consistent properties over the entire 2 m length thanks to our even pressure distribution system and batch sintering process Stress free for the production of precision machined parts Non standard diameters available Available in small quantities and with specialised fillers Reduced tool wear on virgin materials compared with extruded product Available in many material grades. ISOSTATICALLY MOULDED TUBE A range of tube, rod and shapes sizing from 25 to 75mm in 1 metre lengths have been developed for CNC machined parts.
