Email, correspondence and live presentations. Counselingworld, LLC was founded by Roger A. Aguiar and Kirsten Choubard. Roger A. Aguiar has over 20 years in the helping and consulting professions. Roger is bi-lingual (Spanish and English) and has worked with Children, Youth and Families, US Juvenile and Adult Justice Systems, Education, Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence Issues. In addition his experience includes Clinical Supervision, Training, Program Development, Grant Writing, Consulting, Web Development and 12 years of Military Experience. His Education includes Master of Arts in Counseling, Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, University of New Mexico. His recent work experience includes President CounselingWorld and Project Development International providers of direct counseling and consulting services. Mr. Aguiar has served as Clinical Supervisor for CRC Health Group's Albuquerque Treatment Center. There he provided clinical supervision and directed services to a population of over 600 patients. He has worked in public education as a district Safety and Prevention Specialist. Duties Included: Provision of clinical counseling, direct support to the superintendent and school board, grant writing, gang violence and truancy interdiction programs. He directed community-wide development and promotion of programs and coordination with indigenous populations. His credentials include: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, National Board of Certified Counselors, Member American Counseling Association and Continuing Education Provider. Kirsten Choubard, MSSW, LISW has over 20 years experience in the helping profession. Kirsten has worked with a variety of populations including: families, Juvenile and Adult justice, sex offenders and Substance Abusers. She is currently the Executive Director of La Buena Vida, Inc. A Community Behavioral Health Center and Clinical Supervisor of CounselingWorld, LLC. Education includes: MSSW, University of Texas at Austin, Phi Kappa Phi, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, University of New Mexico. Licensure and PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS: Licensed Independent Social Worker, New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board, CEU Provider and NASW Member. Current Responsibilities: include oversight of all operations and functioning of a Behavioral Health Agency, hiring and terminating of employees, supervision, negotiating and managing contracts, monitoring and ensuring regulatory compliance, fiscal oversight and management, developing and responding to requests for proposals, public relations, policy and procedure development and direct support of the Board of Directors. Kirsten and Roger have been published several times and continue to write in their spare time. |
