| About | The Beekeeping Extension Society has recieved funding of over $80, 000 from International donor agencies such as the Canadian International Development Agency, USAID, Food and Agriculture Organization, Partners for Development and Irish Aid. Also BES have received seven International Beekeeping experts who served as volunteers through Winrock International and Bees Abroad UK. Presently, 1080 local beekeepers have benefited directly from BES activities and have increased their production capacities from 4, 000 liters to 21, 000. The Partners for Development in May 3, 2007 approved $16, 000 for home based honey sales for BES. In developing the Nigerian beekeeping industry, BES is in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development and other development organizations in 13 others states in Nigeria. |
