About | SEVEN RELIGIONS, SEVEN CULTURES, A SEVEN THOUSAND-YEAR OLD HERITAGE: LIVING HISTORY MARDIN! One of the most important two values of such seven religions, seven cultures, and a seven thousand-year old heritage , we are producing Botan soap as natural and pure as it was initially, and sharing this essential legacy with the whole world. We are producing Botan soap in parallel to the tradition carried over from the Sumerians, at Mardin, a prospective candidate for UNESCOs cultural heritage of the world as well as at Antakya, yet another UNESCO town for peace and brotherhood, under a seven thousand year-old experience transferred from one generation to the next. Botan soap and tradition is unique to this region, and cannot be found anywhere else. OUR METHOD OF PRODUCTION Several stories, most of which are just tales, are told about soap; Yet the first data in the real sense regarding soap appear on Sumerian tablets dated to 2500 B.C. In the prescription spotted, it is related that some kind of soap is obtained by boiling water mixed with wood ash, whilst oil added therein is very gradually melted. We too are manufacturing Botan soap under almost similar natural methods as described on Sumerian inscriptions. It is made up of Botan (pistacia terebinthus) oil and water of oak ash, instead of any chemical KOH. In addition, we are using pure olive oil in diluting Botan oil, and palm oil for the soap to lather. Our production is ongoing with respect to the hotel, spa as well as personal care areas. |
