| About | AML was set up in the year 1990 as a partnership firm in the name of M/s Ajanta Electronics INC and it was later on converted into a private limited Company in the year 1994, in the name ofAjanta Electronics Private Limited, under Chapter IX of the Companies Act, 1956. In 2004 it was converted in to public limited company with the name AJANTA MANUFACTURING LIMITED. During the period from 1990 to 1997 the company was mainly focusing on export business and was concentrating on export of clocks manufactured by the parent manufacturing company AL (erstwhile M/s Ellora Time Pvt. Ltd..) During the period from 1998 to 2002, again as a strategic reorganization, the export business was shifted to ETL and AEPL was engaged in the business of trading as well as domestic marketing of certain electronics products. During this period, ATCM also entered the CFL market and started manufacturing the CFL products on the test basis. In 2002-03, AML decided to set up its own comprehensive manufacturing facilities at a new location in Kutch and thus embarked upon the major project having all the manufacturing facilities under one roof. The CFL plant was started in the year 2005-06. In the year 2005-06, AML started the Vitrified Tiles plant at Kutch. In 2007-08, AML set up facilities for manufacture of Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) from its Kutch unit. Thus, in 2007-08 all the three divisions of AML namely CFL Division, Vitrified Tiles Division as well as the ACP division have become fully operational. However, out of five production lines of Vitrified Tiles division, two lines became operational in 2006-07 and in 2007-08 the balance three lines of Vitrified Tiles division have become fully operational making this plant, the largest plant for manufacturing Vitrified Tiles in India. |
