AOpen Inc. used to be the Open System Business Unit of Acer Computer Inc. which designed, manufactured and sold computer components. It was incorporated in 1996, and stocks were traded on the Taiwan stock exchange in 2002. It is also the first subsidiary which established the entrepreneurship paradigm in the pan Acer Group. Currently, AOpen is a subsidiary of Wistron Group, a spin-off of Acer Group. Since 2003, AOpen invested many resources in research and development, marketing, production and develops new generation technologies and products such as small form factor (SFF). The product development and design are characterized by miniaturization, standardization and modularization. With emphasis energy efficiency and compatible, standard components, AOpen expect to develop the most cost-effective products and allow our consumers to choose the most appropriate solution. AOpen provide SFF systems and PC components to different customers and markets, such as system integrators, retail market, and end-user. Meanwhile, AOpen is a hardware vender of application market such as digital signage.
